Frequently Asked Questions
Our price estimator calculates an approximate value based on current spot metal prices updated regularly throughout the trading day. The estimate considers the metal type, weight, and purity of your items. Please note this is an estimate only - final pricing is determined after we receive and verify your items.
We recommend using a reputable shipping carrier with tracking and insurance appropriate for your shipment's value. Package items securely with adequate padding, include a packing list with your contact information, and consider photographing your items before shipping. Each carrier has different policies regarding precious metals shipments, so check with your preferred carrier for their specific requirements.
We use precision scales accurate to 0.01 grams for exact weight verification and expert visual inspection to identify hallmarks, mint marks, and authenticity markers. Each item is tested individually to confirm metal content and purity. If any discrepancies are found between your estimate and our verification, we'll contact you before proceeding.
If our testing reveals different specifications than your estimate, we'll contact you with an updated quote before proceeding. You can accept the new quote, request your items be returned (shipping costs apply), or provide additional documentation about your items. We never process payments without your explicit approval of the final amount.
We accept gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins and bars from recognized mints and refiners. We specialize in government-issued bullion coins (American Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs, etc.) and bars from LBMA-approved refiners. We do not accept jewelry, dental metals, industrial scrap, or plated items. Please see our "What We Buy" section for complete details.
Pricing is based on current spot metal prices, which fluctuate throughout the trading day. Factors affecting your payout include the type of metal, brand recognition (government mints command premium pricing), condition of items, and current market demand. Larger transactions may qualify for improved pricing.
We offer payment by company check or bank wire transfer. Check payments incur no additional fees, while wire transfers include a processing fee. Payment is issued after we've verified and accepted your items. The timing depends on your chosen payment method and when verification is completed.
We do not accept: gold-plated or gold-filled items, silver-plated items, jewelry of any kind, dental metals, watches, flatware, tea sets, electronic scrap, industrial metals, catalytic converters, or any suspected stolen property. We also cannot purchase numismatic or collectible coins that require grading expertise - we recommend specialist dealers for rare coins.
We have no minimum transaction amount - we're happy to purchase single coins or large collections. For very large transactions, please contact us directly to discuss logistics and potentially improved pricing based on volume.
Our online estimator provides approximate values based on current spot prices. For a more detailed quote, you can contact us directly with specific information about your items. However, all quotes are subject to physical verification - the final price is determined after we receive and authenticate your items, as actual weight and purity must be confirmed.
